Women’s barefoot boots for hiking, rain and routes with changing terrain

The Vivobarefoot Tracker Textile AT II Women are women’s barefoot boots designed for hiking, light mountain terrain, damp paths, moderate mud, rock, dirt and routes where you need protection without losing freedom underfoot.

If you are looking for women’s barefoot hiking boots with a waterproof membrane, All Terrain sole and a more natural feel than a traditional mountain boot, this model enters a very interesting space: it protects you from water and terrain, but does not switch your feet off.

Because that is the difference.

A conventional boot usually gives you security in exchange for stiffness. It protects you, yes. But it also separates you from the ground, limits foot flexion and makes every step clumsier than it needs to be.

The Tracker Textile AT II Women takes a different path.

It is a high, waterproof boot prepared for the outdoors, but it keeps Vivobarefoot’s barefoot philosophy: wide toe box, zero drop, flexible sole and connection with the terrain. It is not a trainer disguised as a boot. Nor is it a heavy boot that seems designed to punish innocent ankles.

It is a barefoot boot for walking outside with more protection, more grip and more natural movement.

Waterproof protection to walk with confidence when the weather changes

Rain does not always warn you. Mud does not either. And wet grass has that charming habit of appearing exactly when you thought the route was going to be simple.

That is why the Vivobarefoot Tracker Textile AT II Women is made with water-resistant treatments, non-absorbent materials, sealed seams and a breathable inner membrane that provides waterproof protection.

This makes it a very useful option for autumn and winter routes, damp paths, weekend escapes, hiking in changing weather and long countryside walks where a low shoe may fall short.

But the important thing is that it does not sacrifice barefoot feel.

The sole remains low for a mountain boot. The toe box still leaves real space for the toes to spread. Zero drop keeps the foot flat, without raising the heel. And the flexibility allows your stride not to depend on a rigid structure that decides for you.

In other words: more protection than a lightweight barefoot shoe, but much more freedom than a classic boot.

And when you have been walking for hours, that is not a detail. It is the difference between arriving with alive feet or with two blocks at the end of your legs.

All Terrain sole for mud, rock, wet ground and firm paths

The All Terrain sole is one of the key elements of the Tracker Textile AT II Women. It combines a 2.5 mm base with 4 mm lugs to provide grip on varied terrain without losing all the information from the ground.

This matters in real hiking.

Not in the summit photo with perfect hair.

On the descent with loose stones. In the muddy section. On wet rock. On the trail that starts comfortably and ends by saying: “let’s see how your balance is doing”.

The updated lug design is made to reduce slipping and improve traction in key areas. This helps you walk with more confidence on damp, rocky, firm or uneven surfaces, while maintaining a closer feel to the terrain than a boot with a thick, rigid sole.

The point is not to feel every stone as if you were barefoot as a form of punishment.

The point is to have a useful connection: enough to adapt your support, correct your step and move with more awareness.

That is barefoot applied to the mountains. Not less protection for the sake of it. Less interference so the foot can take part.

Tracker Textile AT II Women compared with Leather AT II, Forest ESC and Primus Trail

The Vivobarefoot Tracker Textile AT II Women has a very specific role within Vivobarefoot’s outdoor family. And it is worth explaining it clearly to avoid confusion with other models.

It is not a Tracker Leather AT II. The Leather version uses leather and has a more classic mountain boot character. The Tracker Textile AT II Women is the textile option, vegan according to Vivobarefoot’s classification, with recycled materials and a waterproof membrane.

It is not a Tracker Forest ESC. The Forest ESC is more focused on demanding terrain, forest, deep countryside and conditions where maximum robustness is needed. The Tracker Textile AT II Women is more versatile for hiking, damp routes, moderate mountain terrain, varied paths and broader outdoor use.

It is not a Primus Trail. The Primus Trail is a low trail shoe, lighter and more agile for running or moving quickly along paths. The Tracker Textile AT II Women is a high boot, with more coverage, more water protection and a greater feeling of security around the ankle.

And compared with the previous Tracker Textile AT, this version II keeps the idea of a waterproof and vegan barefoot boot, but adds an updated seamless construction and a refined All Terrain sole to improve performance on changing terrain.

So the choice becomes clear.

If you want leather, look at Leather.

If you want tough forest, look at Forest ESC.

If you want light trail, look at Primus Trail.

If you want a women’s waterproof barefoot boot for hiking and wet routes, this is where the Tracker Textile AT II Women comes in.

Who these women’s waterproof barefoot boots are for

The Vivobarefoot Tracker Textile AT II Women are for women who want to walk in the mountains with more freedom, more sensitivity and less stiffness than with a traditional boot. For those who value a wide toe box, zero drop and a natural feel of the terrain, but also need waterproof protection, grip and coverage.

They make a lot of sense for mid-mountain hiking, routes with moderate mud, damp paths, trips with changing weather, autumn and winter escapes, long countryside walks and terrain where a low shoe may not be enough.

They are also a good option if you are looking for a women’s vegan barefoot boot. Not because vegan materials will climb hills for you. That has not been invented yet. But because it allows you to choose a technical, waterproof and outdoor boot without using animal leather as the main material.

That said, they are not for everything.

They are not mountaineering boots. They are not for crampons. They are not for deep snow for hours. They are not the coolest option for dry and hot summer weather. And if you come from very rigid, high and cushioned boots, it is worth making a gradual transition, because here the foot works more.

If you want a boot that does everything for you, this is not it.

If you want a boot that protects you without disconnecting you from the ground, then yes.

A lighter, more natural and adaptable mountain boot

The Tracker Textile AT II Women does not try to look more technical by adding weight, stiffness and volume. It does something smarter: it offers outdoor protection while keeping a much freer feel.

The removable thermal insole adds versatility. It helps regulate temperature by absorbing, storing and releasing heat as foot conditions change. You can use it when it is cold or remove it if you prefer more space and a more direct feel.

The textile construction also helps the boot feel less bulky than many classic hiking boots. It is still a boot. It has a membrane. It has a lugged sole. It has protection. It has structure.

But it does not feel as if you have tied two pieces of rustic furniture to your feet.

And that is appreciated.

Because on a long route, grip matters, of course. Keeping water out matters too. But it matters just as much that your toes have space, that the foot can flex and that you do not end up walking as if someone had switched off the soles of your feet halfway through the route.

The Vivobarefoot Tracker Textile AT II Women is for anyone who wants the mountains with more sensation, more freedom and less block.

Care and maintenance of Vivobarefoot Tracker Textile AT II Women

Materials: as they are made with recycled textile, synthetic reinforcements, a waterproof membrane and a lugged sole, it is best to remove mud, dust or soil after each route with a soft brush. Do not let mud dry for days on the textile or sole.

Care products: for a deeper clean, use a dry or slightly damp cloth and mild soap if necessary. Do not use bleach, harsh detergents or strong chemical products.

Remove the insole and let the boots dry at room temperature. Avoid tumble dryers, radiators, direct sunlight and any intense heat source, as this may damage the materials, adhesives and membrane. After muddy or wet routes, check the sole and lugs to remove accumulated debris.
