Merrell Trail Glove 5
The Merrell Trail Gove 5 is the new trail pure minimalist sneaker, for lovers of great sensations on the mountain and now also redesigned for indoor and outdoor training.
News that incorporates the Merrell Trail Glove 5
As in other models of the Bareoot series, Merrell touches the most important points of the shoes, the upper, the sole and the last. It is still a very light shoe, only 200 grams and vegan.
On the Merrell Trail Glove 5 the upper part has been completely renovated. In this case Merrell bets on a mesh that recalls the first version, which provides breathability and high resistance to wear. This mesh is reinforced with thermosealed TPU of greater thickness than in the Merrell Trail Glove 4, so that the durability in this aspect is guaranteed.
The sole remains of Vibram TC-5 Plus with high performance in grip and durability. The drawing is also new with 3 mm studs. Tall. These studs have a flat base at the front, which provides the versatility that the Merrell Trail Glove have always enjoyed, so we can also use them to run on asphalt and compact roads without losing touch.
The adjustment is changed by the use of a new last called Merrell Barefoot 2, whose construction improves proprioception and stability in a wide variety of movements. The width of last in the front is the same, although the feeling is of greater space, since the base in the middle part of the shoe is mayir. In addition, the sole goes up on the outside in the midfoot area in order to maximize the fit in that area.
Regarding size, nothing has changed. To choose the right size we recommend reading the following link and following the instructions.
The Trail Glove 5 has a new tongue of classic cut, so that the tongue type glove of the previous model disappears. This new tongue is sewn on both sides of the shoe, which prevents dirt from entering the interior and makes it easier to adjust.
With regard to minimalist features nothing has changed. They have anatomical last with drop 0, ample space for the movement of the fingers and without lateral reinforcements or system that tries to correct the tread. They are flat, very flexible and with a low weight, 200 grams for size 42.
The thickness of the sole is 11.5 mm, as in the previous version, which achieves a perfect balance between protection in rough terrain and response of the foot, so that it can quickly capture the irregularities of the ground and react in function of the same. It has the TrailProtec antirocks plate and the midsole is still EVA.
