If you're looking for a trail shoe
but don't want the mountain to cut you off from the ground.
Read this.
Because there comes a time when you get tired of "cloud-like" soles.
Of not feeling where you step.
And of losing your balance because your shoe decides for you.
You want to feel the root.
The rock.
The change in slope.
Without unnecessary filters.
The Merrell Trail Glove 8 does exactly that.
On the outside, a lightweight, breathable armor.
On the inside, Merrell’s radical fit that hugs your arch without crushing your toes.
It’s not the shoe that protects you by isolating you from the world.
It’s the one that connects you to it.
The Merrell Trail Glove 8 consolidates the evolution of mountain barefoot footwear, prioritizing a precise sensory connection with the ground without compromising runner safety on technical trails.
Unlike its predecessor, this eighth generation optimizes biomechanical fit. The lacing system integrates with a wrap-around structure in the midfoot, designed to stabilize the plantar arch and prevent internal shifting during steep descents or sudden changes in direction.
The outsole features the Vibram® EcoStep Recycle compound. This multidirectional traction design offers superior mechanical grip on dirt, gravel, or rock surfaces, while maintaining torsional flexibility that allows the foot to adapt organically to uneven terrain.
The upper is constructed with technical mesh incorporating Cleansport NXT™ treatment for biological odor control. As a true zero drop shoe, it maintains a 14mm stack height across the platform, providing a stable base that enhances proprioception and reduces joint impact by encouraging a midfoot strike.
Protection from external elements is handled by a TrailProtect™ internal rock plate. It acts as a lightweight shield against sharp stones or roots without blocking the shoe's elasticity or the feeling of freedom inherent to minimalist footwear.

For optimal mountain performance, measure your foot and check your size using the ‘Check your size here’ link found below the size selector.
We recommend a free margin of between 1 and 1.2 cm. This space is critical in trail footwear to prevent nail injuries during descents and to allow for foot swelling caused by thermal effort.
If the fit is not perfect, we offer a quick exchange system. This service is free if you include the exchange insurance for €1.99 in your order (available for mainland Spain and the Balearic Islands).

To prolong the life of technical materials, remove sediment and mud with a soft-bristled brush and cold water after every outing.
It is vital to avoid machine washing, as heat and chemical detergents degrade the Vibram sole polymers and the fabric's anti-odor treatments.
Always dry in the shade in a ventilated area. Direct contact with the sun or heat sources accelerates the aging of technical bonds and the loss of material elasticity.
