When we have to choose a minimalist shoe we have to consider various factors. One of the most important is if we want a shoe with all minimalist properties «Pure Minimalist Shoe» or a shoe with some of it «Intermediate Minimalist Shoe».

All ZaMi shoes that are categorized as a minimalist shoe: pure or intermediate will meet the following requirements:

  • They have a wide last for the part of the fingers, respecting the anatomy of the foot.
  • They have a light weight.
  • They have a drop (difference in height between the front and back of the shoe), never more than 4 mm.
  • They have a thickness or height of sole. Mountain or trail models tend to have more sole thickness, since more protection is often required on such terrain.
  • They do not have tread control systems.
  • They do not have stability systems.
  • They do not have lateral reinforcements.

Next shoe we can find is «Natural Running Shoe». This kind of shoes help feet to land with the middle or advanced feet area for a more natural running technique but they do not have minimalist properties as we know.
