The slap of reality that changed her feet

The slap of reality that changed her feet

I’m going to tell you what Isabel wrote.

Because the slap of reality would knock down anyone who refuses to believe it.

The point is that Isabel will soon turn 70.

And she walks a lot.

More than many at 40.

But it wasn’t always like that.

For years, every step was torture.

Until she was diagnosed with Morton’s neuroma and sentenced for life:

“Isabel, nothing will ever be the same again, you just have to endure it, that’s your lot.”

That phrase fell on Isabel like a huge granite stone.

Harsh words, as hard as the insoles the podiatrist made for her:

“This will help, but don’t expect a miracle,” he said.

But the reality is that she almost broke her foot.

She went to another podiatrist.

New insoles, thinner, more flexible.

But just as useless.

Her mountain hikes turned into torture.

Going downhill, her knees would swell.

And her back screamed in pain.

Her whole body begged for mercy, but Isabel didn’t know what to do.

Until one day her daughter told her:

“Mom, take all that off and start walking barefoot.”

And she did.

First at home, completely barefoot.

Then outside with some FiveFingers.

Every day she increased the time a little.

Ten minutes.

Twenty.

Half an hour.

The neuroma, little by little, began to fade.

As if it had never existed.

Then she bought some Vivobarefoot shoes.

And that’s when the real fun began.

Hikes without pain.

Kilometers without thinking about those damned insoles.

Today, at almost 70, Isabel keeps going.

More alive than ever.

Stronger.

And with a very simple message for you:

“Cheer up. Try. There’s another way to walk.”

Well, ostrich, the things Isabel comes up with.

My question is simple:

"Are you going to keep wearing shoes that squeeze, deform, and condemn you to a lifetime of pain?"

"Or are you going to try the freedom of walking in the mountains as if you were in the city?"

For the second option, I have the best footwear you could imagine.

From Vivobarefoot, of course (we’ve already made peace: Vivobarefoot is suing me)

Sometimes all you need is to remove what’s unnecessary.

Listen to your feet.

And take a step toward something true.

That’s how Isabel started.

That’s how you can start too.

Efectiviwonder.

Health begins in your feet.
