People no longer ask what barefoot footwear is. They choose it.

People no longer ask what barefoot footwear is. They choose it.

2025 has been the best year for barefoot footwear.

And not because more pairs were sold.

But because it has stopped being “a type of shoe” and has become a way of thinking.

You’ll see.

For the first time in 15 years, when someone walks into the shop I don’t have to explain what barefoot footwear is.

Nor its benefits.

Nor the problems it helps avoid.

People come in, look, and choose.

They choose what they need for work.

For their everyday life.

Or for their little one who is starting to walk.

And that is a huge change.

Despite all the talk about how we think less and less, how we’re trapped in the latest reel, how we’ve got mobile-phone brains, I’ve seen just the opposite:

Less explanation and more judgement.

That said, here are the articles that best sum up this year.

1. Cristiano Ronaldo’s feet don’t lie

Seeing one of the greatest athletes in history wearing barefoot footwear says two very clear things:

  • Health is not negotiable, not even for multi-million sponsorships.
  • And health doesn’t care about trends, not even for someone as cool as Cristiano Ronaldo.

Cristiano Ronaldo’s feet speak loud and clear

2. Can my mother wear barefoot footwear?

Probably the most repeated question of the year.

The short answer is yes.

The long answer is that movement is medicine at any age.

Can Your Mother with Arthritis Wear Barefoot Footwear?

3. A customer gives us a zero

Customers are sometimes right.

Sometimes they’re not.

A customer gives us a zero and feels great about it.

Even so, the story is worth telling.

A customer gives us a zero and walks away happy

4. When the Joma sales rep came to “introduce” me to barefoot

She came in and started with the list:

Wide toe box.

Balance.

Bunions.

And the final question:

“How long have you been open?”

The silence said more than any answer.

The Joma sales rep wanted to sell me barefoot

5. What Nike did to Nadal’s foot

It’s not about tennis.

It’s about what happens when you punish your feet for years.

This is what Nike did to Nadal’s foot

All these stories have something in common.

They’re not about trends.

They’re about decisions.

And that’s the best way to sum up the end of 2025, the year barefoot footwear no longer needs defenders.

When something works, it stops being explained and starts being chosen.

Efectiviwonder.

Health starts at your feet.
