Alive or zombie? Start with this

Alive or zombie? Start with this

I’ll get straight to the point.

We all want the same thing:

To live longer.

Not to die.

Or at least, not yet.

You, me, your neighbour.

Health above everything.

That’s why I don’t get the super cushioned shoes.

Shoes that only numb your feet, weaken them, shut them down little by little.

And if you don’t use something… you lose it.

It dies.

Your foot too.

It dies silently. Without warning.

You notice it when it’s too late: knee pain, weak ankles, an aching back… and that clumsy, slow movement, as if you were living in slow motion.

Still, what do you see most on the street?

Fat shoes.

Fat and narrow.

A perfect combination to bury your feet alive.

And the worst part: people with degrees recommending them.

Good grief.

Because you know what happens with those mattress-soled shoes:

They disconnect you.

They take so long to transmit what’s happening under you that when your body reacts, it’s already too late.

If you trip, you’re on the ground.

Zero sensitivity, zero reaction capacity. A delay in your reflexes that can cost you dearly.

But well… whatever I say doesn’t matter.

If you don’t see it, I can’t do anything.

It is what it is.

Nothing changes.

Ostrich mode on.

Nike will sell you whatever they want, because they know how to do it.

Even if it’s nonsense. I already told it here and here.

And behind them come the rest: Adidas, Strecher, Puma, New Balance, Asics…

They’ll flood shop windows with zombie shoes:

Fat.

Tight.

Disconnected.

So your body turns into a walking dead.

So you walk slowly and react late.

A movement zombie.

But if Nike sells it, it must be good, right?

Even if they sell you the death of your feet with LED lights.

I can’t compete with Nike.

I don’t even try.

I just know that once you wear barefoot shoes, there’s no turning back.

Even if you had discomfort or even injuries at first, because you know the problem wasn’t the shoes, but the way you used them with sleepy feet, after years of wearing conventional footwear.

Right.

Back to the point.

If you want to live longer, take care of your health.

And start with your feet.

That’s why I recommend shoes that not only have a name reminding me how wonderful it is to be alive, but when you put them on… your foot wakes up. And you with it:

Vivobarefoot Primus Trail Flow.

They’re not just any shoes.

They’re barefoot, yes.

But they’re also tough, flexible, comfortable and (this is important) responsive.

With them you feel the ground, anticipate the step, correct the movement, react.

And if you go hiking, trekking or just want an all-terrain pair for any surface, these give you EVERYTHING without killing your feet in the process.

Because we’re not here to walk like zombies.

We’re here to live. To move like humans.

To feel alive.

Damn right.

Health starts in your feet

P.S. If you don’t want shoes, there’s always the best option: go barefoot.

At home, of course. And outside, as far as your mind allows.

Because like the bare foot itself, there’s no shoe that comes close.

None.
